Actually snail-mail address in Japan, China, and Korea (at least) goes from
broad to specific. Also we do not use "street" adress. Instead we use a bl
ock (ward?) address. This means more than 100 million people use the addres
s system. (BTW, Japan uses 119 instead of 911 for emergency). I wish the s
tandards take non-European/Amercian situations into consideration.
