TONIC can potentially participate in cluster with projects like Broadband Radio Access for IP Based Networks, M3I IST-1999-11429 Market Managed Multi-Service Internet and MCP IST-1999-133046 Multimedia Car Platform.
The BRAIN project will offer its advanced network architecture, which is based on UMTS and WLAN interworking for TONIC for techno-economic evaluation. The output from TONIC will be results of the techno-economic evaluation, which will be given to the BRAIN consortium.
The organisations participating in TONIC are also participating in the following IST project that have some economics related activities in them. In many cases the economics related activities in these projects are rather different in nature from the techno-economics approach that TONIC is using.
IST-1999-10050 BRAIN: One WP in BRAIN is establishing different service sets for the BRAIN architecture. This is very likely usable information for TONIC.
IST-1999-11729 METRA: One WP is evaluating the costs/benefit impacts of multiple antenna transceivers from base station, terminal and mobile network point of view.

IST-1999-11567 TEAM-HOS
IST-1999-10077 AQUILA: WP 3.3 aims at the evaluation and commercial exploitation of the project results. Business plans for commercially promising cases will be developed. Such cases include business-to-business relations and business-to-end-customer relations. Based on real cost and revenue figures provided by the trial, resulting models for alternative business cases will be simulated. As major simulation result, break even point definitions are expected.
